Every year a Bridge Course is conducted for the newly admitted students of B. Ed. Course. As the students have to transform themselves from students to student teachers, they are given guidance to understand , analyze and mould themselves. This year our college conducted bridge course from 25.06.2018 to 11.07.2018. They develop various skills like Communication, personality development, stress management etc., The key benefit of this course is the confidence and morale that automatically gets a boost and a push with good personality development. Students were trained to get an easy flow of speech in conversation as it can lead to a more successful career and promise for the future. Communication is the real mark of leadership. Moreover, although life provides numerous demands that can prove difficult to handle, stress management provides a number of ways to manage anxiety and maintain overall well-being.
The first day 25th June 2018, was utilized for rapport building and self introduction. The introduction session for B.Ed. programme was given by our Secretary Rev. Sr. A. Magdalene Therese and our Principal Rev. Dr. A. NirmalaDevi. The Dean of our esteemed Institution, Dr. E. C. Punitha explained the rules and regulations of the College. In the post lunch session Dr. Gladys Stella Bai, our Director of Physical Education, gave general instructions regarding discipline. We had an inaugural Ceremony for I Year B.Ed students which had been so pleasant and peaceful.
On 26th June 2018, “Ice breaking session” was organized and conducted. Ice breakers are an effective way of starting a training. As interactive and often fun sessions run before the main proceedings, they help people get to know each other and familiarize into the purpose of the event. Such a session well-designed and well-facilitated, students become more engaged in the proceedings of the course and so contribute more effectively towards a successful outcome. The days followed were utilized for training in Stress Management, Soft Skills ,Spoken English, Effective Communication skills, ICT in Education , Personality Development, Professional Ethics of a Teacher and Spirituality for daily life. A two day training programme was conducted by Mrs.S.Mary Sundarabai, our Craft Instructor which imparted training to our B.Ed. Students to enable them to write deftly and clearly, with pointed strokes.
Through the feedback of the students it was obvious that the Bridge course served its purpose.
